Lion Corporation Thailand Limited’s 2030 sustainability vision aimed at reshaping daily habits for a meaningful impact. To realize this vision, they introduced the Systema Slim Teq toothbrush, a product epitomizing their commitment to health and the environment. This toothbrush, designed for effective cleaning and with a 35% plastic reduction in the handle, required specialized resin to provide needed stiffness even with its extremely thin handle design, 40% thinner than conventional models. Lion Thailand collaborated with IRPC and Milliken & Company, selecting the POLIMAXX® DURA-PRO combined with Milliken’s Hyperform® additive. This collaboration culminated in a launch that championed sustainability, reduced CO2 emissions, and promoted the recycling of plastics, solidifying a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Our collaboration with South Plastic Industry Co. Ltd. led to the development of UltraClear™ PP resin, achieving a clear, anti-fogging polypropylene (PP) lid for microwavable food packaging. Utilizing Milliken’s additives, we were able to thermoform products at lower processing temperatures, reducing energy use, and creating thinner PP lids without affecting rigidity, further reducing plastic usage.

This pioneering solution expands the horizons for recycled PP in demanding applications, demonstrating the potency of collaboration.
